Pear Mango Chutney: The Flavoursome Side Dish For You

Pear Mango Chutney is a famous Pahari dish that has so tangy & sweet flavours. It is an easy side recipe & just apt for people who have a sweet tooth. The spicy chutney is made by pears, raw mangoes, cashews, raisins, sugar, almonds and masalas such as garam masala powder, clove powder and muskmelon seeds. The best thing about this tasty side dish is that it could be served & relished with almost any toast or light snack.

Ingredients for Pear Mango Chutney:
  • raw mango - 100 gm
  • Sugar - 200 gm
  • red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
  • muskmelon seeds - one tbsp
  • clove powder - one pinch
  • Cashews - five
  • Pear - 100 gm
  • salt as per requirement
  • garam masala powder - one pinch
  • Raisins - 1/2 tbsp
  • water as per requirement
  • Almonds - five

How to prepare Pear Mango Chutney:

Step 1) Begin by cleaning mangoes & pears in running water, now peel & mash them in a little vessel. Next, take a thick-bottom vessel & heat it on a moderate flame. Drop half of the sugar & cook over a low flame till sugar leaves moist.

Step 2) Stir & cook on a low flame once sugar becomes brown in colour, drop sufficient water & boil the mix on a moderate flame. Drop the rest sugar & boil till sugar dissolves fully in water.

Step 3) When it begins to boil, drop the pears and mashed mangoes in a vessel. And, drop muskmelon seeds, raisins, cashews and sliced almonds. Combine the components finely with a spatula. Sprinkle salt and red chilli powder.

Step 4) Stir it on interval & boil until a thick jam consistency is made. Next, drop garam masala powder and clove powder. Mix the masalas properly & detach from heat. Put beside to cool & put it into a glass jar.
